Orange Creamsicle (Green) Smoothie

Sunday ended our 7-day Green Smoothie Challenge, and Bob and I were actually a bit disappointed it was over.  We would both love to have these EVERY day, as it’s the perfect afternoon snack.  Being back to work full-time makes it more difficult.  However, we will continue to enjoy these as often as we can!

On the last day, I decided to try something new with our smoothie:  orange!  I loved this.  Bob’s favorite is still the Berry Coconut, but he did say it was a nice change.

Orange Creamsicle Green Smoothie

Orange Creamsicle (Green) Smoothie

  • 1 orange, peeled
  • 1/4 c. plain greek yogurt
  • 1/2 t. vanilla extract
  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
  • 1/4 c. water
  • 6 ice cubes
  • 1 handful of spinach

Blend and enjoy!  Cheers!

I would think you could replace the protein powder with more greek yogurt and/or ice, if you prefer.

By the way, I also made a slight variation of my apple pie smoothie on Saturday, by adding a handful of pitted cherries.  Oh my, that was delicious!

Any favorite smoothie recipes out there?  When they are back in season, I’d like to try a mango smoothie next!

I love smoothies but my kitchen is usually a mess when I am done making them. Maybe because I use about a million different ingredients and tailor them to what each of my kids like.

I love using almond milk, banana, dark cherries(all fruit frozen for consistency), spinach and greek yogurt for my favorite combination. Yum!!

I am so not creative with my smoothies but I have to get better about that. I’m not great about smoothies for breakfast in the winter though because I am super cold : ) What is your favorite protein powder?

Love the idea. I’ll try adding some greek yogurt to my smoothie next time :)

I read somewhere that green smoothies could be store in the fridge for up to 4 days. Maybe you could make some Sunday night and have it last you throughout most of the week? 😉

You are so full of good smoothie ideas, yum! I made an Orange creamsicle batch of popsicles this summer for my daughter from an orange, plain yogurt and a splash of almond milk and vanilla. So simple and so yummy!

This sounds delicious. I’ve also been trying to eat more green smoothies….I’ll need to search through your blog for more tasty recipes.

When I was in Argentina, mangos were in season there and I had a mango-milk smoothie. It was literally just mango and milk blended together but it was so simple and SO tasty. So when they’re back in season you should definitely try it!
