Perfect Sangria

My sister’s and I planned a little surprise party last Saturday.  My parents are now both retired!!  Yipee!  We decided to get the family together to celebrate.  I’m so thrilled for them–they deserve some time to just soak in all that life has to offer after working so hard all these years.

I made a no-sugar added sangria that turned out to be a hit!  Not too sweet, yet fruity and delicious.  Definitely the best batch I’ve ever made.  Here’s what I used:

Perfect Sangria

  • 2 bottles of Spanish table wine (specifically, Rene Barbier Mediterranean Red, from Trader Joe’s)
  • 1/4 – 1/3 c. Grand Marnier
  • 3 c. chopped fruit (strawberries, nectarine, pear, orange, lemon, apple)
  • 1 12 oz. can of soda water, or Zevia ginger ale (if you’d like it sweeter)
Combine the first 3 ingredients in a big pitcher, and allow to marinate in the refrigerator for 24 hours, if possible.  The longer the better.  Wine soaked fruit is amazing.  Just saying’.

Before serving, add the soda water/ginger ale.

Serve well-chilled, and enjoy!!!
