My sister’s and I planned a little surprise party last Saturday. My parents are now both retired!! Yipee! We decided to get the family together to celebrate. I’m so thrilled for them–they deserve some time to just soak in all that life has to offer after working so hard all these years.

I made a no-sugar added sangria that turned out to be a hit! Not too sweet, yet fruity and delicious. Definitely the best batch I’ve ever made. Here’s what I used:
Perfect Sangria
- 2 bottles of Spanish table wine (specifically, Rene Barbier Mediterranean Red, from Trader Joe’s)
- 1/4 – 1/3 c. Grand Marnier
- 3 c. chopped fruit (strawberries, nectarine, pear, orange, lemon, apple)
- 1 12 oz. can of soda water, or Zevia ginger ale (if you’d like it sweeter)
Before serving, add the soda water/ginger ale.

Congratulations to your parents!! <3. I hope you have a wonderful weekend hunnie!.
You and your sister look a lot alike, wow! Nothing bets sangria. Perfect recipe in time for the weekend!
Exactly! Happy Friday!
I love sangria! I should try making this kind of recipe next time I drink. Maybe I will use my juicer to add some grape and strawberry juice to make it a little sweeter.
Good idea! But check it out first–if you give the sangria time to marinate, it turns out to be pretty sweet.
